Malene Bach (4. juni 1967-), datter af Ella Juul Kjærulff og kunstmaler Ole Bach Sørensen, billedkunstner, uddannet fra Kunstakademiets Billedkunstskole i 1993, bor og arbejder i København.
Malene Bach har udført et større antal arbejder i offentlig og privat regi, deltaget i adskillige udstillinger i Danmark og internationalt, ligesom hun har fået adskillige legater og udmærkelser.
Malene Bach arbejder i et bredt spektrum inden for billedkunsten. Hun går ofte i dialog med arkitekturen og indarbejder billedkunsten i en rumlig sammenhæng. Integreret kunst kaldes det også og skal forstås som kunstnerisk dekoration af rum og bygningsværker ved farvesætning, ornamentik og æstetisk bearbejdning af funktionelle elementer – interiør mv.
På sin engelsksprogede hjemmeside forklarer Malene Bach:
“Colour is a constant source of energy, power and motivation. Colour is what guides all my artistic contributions and spatial interventions – regardless of scale.”
Og endvidere:
“Malene Bach’s work explores perception and the conditional in art – often through site-specific, colouristic and architectural interventions. With colour as the primary vehicle, she experiments across mediums and scales, moving fluidly between art and architecture. In her in-situ works she explores and evolves in a dialogical and dynamic process, baring the potentiality of the specific sites. Working artistically and colouristically – in and with architecture, her interventions can thus be seen as a direct and subtle response to material, spatial and architectonic qualities and local techniques.
The experimental and often also dynamic investigations of how spatial relations can be affected by colour are also a guiding principle in her studio works. Although the studio objects and artefacts produced by Malene Bach may at first appear as pure formalistic investigations of compositional elements such as colour, line, shape, texture and other perceptual aspects, they always transcend form in one way or the other – revealing a contingent and playful relation with both viewers and surroundings.”

Gennem tre år (2014-17) udførte Malene Bach sammen med Leif Hansen Arkitekter en gennemgribende renovering af Snostrup Kirke med et stærkt stykke rumkunst i form af et gulv af teglklinker skabt til netop Snostrup Kirke. De hovedsagelig rombe-formede klinker danner geometriske mønstre hele vejen gennem skib, kor og tårn. Nyindretningen omfatter blandt andet også en ny farvesætning af interiøret og en glasmosaik i vinduet i tårnet. Se mere i artiklen om Snostrup.
